Steward Program and Grievances

Stewards are member volunteers who are trained in representing Local 328 members in investigations and in handling grievances.

We bargain for a good contract, but a contract is only as good as the enforcement it receives. The Steward Program is the key to contract enforcement.

Many members only think of stewards and grievances when they or another coworker is in trouble.

But that’s only a part of what Stewards do. Stewards ensure that the entire collective bargaining agreement is honored including the articles on health benefits, overtime, scheduling, layoffs, job bids, placement, vacation and many more.
